Grimes’ newest album Visions has been out for quite a while, but not mentioning it here would definitely be a mistake. Claire Boucher says “I like the idea of a culture of pure aesthetics. It feels like a video game.” And her songs are indeed pure aesthetics. The components of her music remind us more of a garage-sale: Synthesizer, vocal-pedals, a keyboard, samples and sequencers. This mixture and a few shots of pop music make the new production quite unique, we picked out the track “Genesis” that reflects this in a splendid way.

A German cooperation. Solomun gives Digitalism’s tune “Encore” some fresh kicks, equipping it with a light and synthy sound and a banging bass line. The work is superb regarding what’s happened to the drop and at the same time he is able to adapt to the classic Digitalism synthline. Available on the “Encore” DJ Kicks EP.

After publishig their previous track “Idea of Happiness” the four Australians yet again hit the spot with idyllic tropical sounds. Catching up a bit. The duo Major Lazer released their single “Get Free” on April 16th this year, featuring Amber Coffman from Dirty Projectors. This single is giving dance music a melodical touch of reggae, paired with sweet vocals that make it a perfect summer tune. Have a listen!

Southern London beats. Up for only 2 years, those lads have gathered plenty of support recently. Their new EP - The Face - came out just today, many have been looking forward getting their hands on it. Finest bouncy 2 step garage and deep bass as usual is what you’ll find inside. “What’s In Your Head” is EP’s flagship, but also “Control” (ft. Ria Ritchie) is definitely worth a listen.

Tracklist:
1. Boiling (feat. Sinead Harnett)
2. What’s In Your Head
3. Lividup
